Officer Eugene Schubeck was called to the emergency room, early on Sunday morning, to interview a woman with scratches on her face and blooming bruises from an altercation a few hours earlier.
The trouble began when the woman, who had been drinking at a bar, was in a “confrontation and argument over a man” with a friend in a Lake City parking lot. Their antics were loud enough to disturb people at a party in a nearby apartment.
Officer Shubeck explains, based on the woman’s account, what happened next: “A female partygoer, the suspect, yelled ‘Shut the fuck up, white bitch‘. [The woman in the parking lot] responded with a challenge, accompanied with the word ‘nigga.'”
“The suspect answered the challenge, came downstairs to the parking lot, and proceeded to physically trounce [the soon-to-be-hospitalized woman] while [her friend] watched,” the police report says.
The victim was inspected at Northwest Hospital for a possible concussion, facial and back scratches, and broken facial bones.
