- Not the LaRouche activists who were assaulted, but equally idiotic, nonetheless
Around 1:00 p.m. last Friday, a woman assaulted an activist working at a table promoting quadrennial failure for president Lyndon LaRouche, according to a Seattle police report.
When contacted by an officer, the female victim reported that she was “standing out in front of the [Chase] bank with a friend promoting the LaRouche PAC and the impeachment of the President,” the report says. You’ve seen these people around the city. They’re the ones who equate Obama’s attempts at health-care reform in this country with Hitler’s extermination of the Jews.
The victim said she witnessed a woman leave the bank and get into a black Ford Ranger pickup truck, only to soon get out and approach the two LaRouche supporters. “The contact at this point was nothing out of the ordinary,” according to police. She further added that “she is used to having people confront her over the picture of the President with a ‘Hitler Mustache’ and calling for his impeachment.” After a brief verbal altercation between the two, the suspect returned to her vehicle.
Evidently, exchanging some heated words was not enough for the woman. The police report says that the woman “returned and attempted to take the sign of the president off the table.” The LaRouche woman tried to get the sign back, and was subsequently “shoved” away, causing her to accidentally hit her friend in the face, the report says. The assailant gave up on trying to take the sign and left in her vehicle.
You may recall a similar incident occurring up in Edmonds back in September. (See Thursday, February 4)

come on people… water balloons!!
hahahahaha! couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person
i think obama looks more like charlie chaplin in that picture.
is it legal to pull the picture off the table (provided you don’t smack a bitch) or is it destruction of property?
#3! that’s what i said to my pal when we walked past it the other day in front of the convention center! I told my pal that if it was just me the the Larouchies and that poster alone on the street, there would be trouble, but I am civil, obey most laws pertaining to violence, and a chicken.
Seriously, what is the law pertaining to their vocal, false defamatory protests? Is it all protected by free speech rights or can I say, dump something on the table that might cause them to go home for the day? like factory farm eggs or something rotten from my compost bin? and is a permit required for them to see up on a sidewalk–where they usually are impeading the right fo way of bikers and walkers. Please help.
I hear lurking about and filming them really unsettles their shit.
@1 – OMFG – that’s exactly what I thought before clicking on comments.
I say pepper spray them!! Or just take a gun and … well you know.
I love how one of the LaRouchies has a profile on one of those gay profile sites. I mean, LaRouche has been so for that in the past, the guy probably feels real welcome. Would suck if LaRouchies were actually hostile to that and revealing his membership on a gay sex profile site would be tantamount to outing him to a hostile group. I mean, it’s not like LaRouche advocated forced isolation of gays as recently as the mid-90s.
Try taking pictures of them. They love it.
I agree with @1.
Although paint ballons (water-based washable paint) are far more fun.
Boo-fucking-hoo. Bush as Hitler posters were popular too. Get over it.
Just like the incident involving the 71-year old Edmonds man, I seriously doubt that this encounter was as violent as the Larouchies made it out to be. I bet if I accidentally sneezed on one of them, they’d fill out a police report claiming that I deliberately assaulted them. What a bunch of wimps and cowards.
Take lots of pictures whenever you see them. It really gets their goat.
Those Larouchies are like a little kid acting out for attention. “Mommie look at me! I’m standing on the coffee table!”
The people who staff the tables actually invite confrontation, it is free publicity and makes them out to be victims. In the past few months they have been in front of the Broadway Market QFC several times. One of the staffers is a woman with a particularly smarmy smirk who engages passers-by with the question, “Does this picture of Obama upset you?” I always answer, “No, it’s just childish, grow up.” and keep walking. Folks shouldn’t give them the satisfaction of any attention at all.
The LaRouchies are insane, but really no more insane than Obama’s league of ass sniffers. The lies you fuckers tell about him…. Like good little Nazis, you out-Republican the Republicans in your loyalty and devotion to your party and its leaders. Obama makes more war and you cheer. Obama’s health care will destroy the country and you call it “progress”. Obama freezes domestic spending (you know, spending on YOU and YOUR family) and increases the war budget to a level that would give Dick Cheney a boner, and you fuckers shout “look at all the wonderful things he’s doing!” I’ll take the LaRouchies because you’re all batshit Democrat crazy (LaRouche is a perennial Democratic candidate for president), but at least the LaRouchies actions aren’t killing people.
What if you set up a table right next to them claiming to be LaRouch also and basically had literature that was far far more objectionable than theirs and started spouting lies and offensive speech in their name….. Do you think that they would make them mad? would that be legal?
This makes me wish we had LaRouchies. Sounds endlessly entertaining.
@17 Oh, they really are. If you ever get the chance to visit, look me up and I’ll show you some of their usual spots.
I agree, Andy Squirrel, it would be amusing to follow them around and set up shop right next to them… Maybe you could offer a product like “Disposable Pre-Mixed LaRoucheDouche – The Crazy is Mixed Right In!!”
You could claim it was Performance Art… That oughta frost their cookies…
you could pull the poster off as long as it did not result in damage, but you could not retain possession of it, as “technically” an action that results in the poster being damaged would be Property Destruction (a defense would be that you were not intentionally trying to damage the poster, just trying to take it down) and keeping the poster is technically “theft” but both instances would propably NOT be prosecuted, as they are de minimis. SPD guy
Hernandez, the only thing that has stopped me from visiting Seattle is that Washington doesn’t have reciprocity with Colorado for my concealed carry permit. If that ever changes, I’ll be more than happy to let you show me around (as long as the tour also includes some of the more fun bars).
@21- Seriously dude? I promise, your odds of needing a gun are extremely low. The cost of not carrying are far lower than the costs of not seeing this lovely city.
@WA state legislature: How about a bill making the sentencing guidelines for destroying an image of the POTUS with a Hitler mustach read “a stern talking to with a wink?”
@21 – thank god.
And stay out of our state parks.
All you actually have to do is ask them this question: “What are you going to do when your cult leader dies?” Trust me, they will then take a swing at you and then you can get them busted for a change.
Dwight, I have no doubt you’re right. But after you’ve spent 35 years walking around with a gun on your hip, it’s not something you give up lightly.
And Will: Watch out, because I’ll be looking for you when/if I come. Hopefully, it’ll be in a park too.
Is it just me, or does that Larouchebag have some nice cans.
On second inspection, it looks like she’s just standing there.
You have to be an idiot to take LaRouche cultists seriously. Most are mentally ill.
@24: Seriously. It can’t be soon enough. The man is 87 years old! But L. Ron passing on didn’t seem to stop any of that other craziness out there.
@12 Bush-as-Hitler posters were “popular?” Like, American Idol popular? Or just Smallville popular?
I call bullshit on the Larouchebag’s testimony. These Larouchebags can get pretty agressive.
Has Ms. Helvetica Bold come out of retirement?
“I call bullshit on the Larouchebag’s testimony. These Larouchebags can get pretty agressive”
Yep. They’re as full of lies and attention-whoring as scientologists.
@16 Andy_Squirrel & @19 merry, you set it up and i’ll be there. contact me @ [username] @ hotmail.com or @ gmail.com.
@25: Washington is an open-carry state, ya pussy.
As for the picture, a nice rack can’t fix crazy.
