This is probably a Slog Post for one person out there, but I don’t want you—whoever you are—to miss the opportunity.

Great local poetry publisher Wave Books is hosting three days of poetry, from August 14th through the 16th. The event includes films, readings by many poets, exhibitions, a book arts presentation, and discounts on poetry books at 14 local bookstores.

Tickets for the whole three-day event are $75 each ($50 for students). If the economy’s got you down, Wave Books is providing a free scholarship to 10 people who can’t pay the ticket price but would like to attend all three days. If that sounds like you, you should send a query e-mail with a little bit of information about yourself to this e-mail address at Wave Books as soon as possible. It sounds like a poetry-lovers dream come true.

If you’ve read this far and you’re not into poetry, bless you. Here is a photo of a sexy lady and here is a photo of her sexy husband for your trouble.

  1. Actually, if you were to add up all the people in Seattle who care about poetry and make a ratio to all people in Seattle and match it to SLOG posts about poetry versus all SLOG posts, I bet even one post about poetry would be out of whack with the demographics.

  2. @3 Good for you! Not that anyone gives a flying fuck… but whatever.

As long as you feel validated, that’s the important part. Whether she actually exists or not, well, that’s for the haters to decide. But I wish you well in your blossoming ‘relationship’, and hope it takes up your time that you might otherwise spend on SLOG.
