The University Book Store, whose 99-percent-supporting business model Paul profiled last week, is giving away books on their blog. (Conflict of interest note: I worked there for years.) Go check it out. Right now it’s The Swerve, which Josh Potter reviewed kindly for The Stranger (he called it “a bookish nerd’s wet dream“) and which subsequently won a National Book Award. The “contest” is pretty sweet, for all you bookish nerds:

In the comments, post a short anecdote about a book you’ve rediscovered in your life. Something you hated as a teenager, maybe, but then grew to love in adulthood. Or something people had been recommending to you for years, and you avoided for one reason or another.
