The brand-new Seattle branch of the popular nationwide booze-and-nerdy-lecture series features self-professed “sound nerd” Ross Maddox, who will bemoan the tragedy that is MP3 compression and explain how to make your digital music sound better. And then Stranger books editor Paul “Is He as Snotty in Person as He Is on Paper?” Constant will give a speech called “Printcasting: How Genre Can Save Books (Again).” It envisions an interactive publishing platform in which e-books become more than lame reproductions of print books and explains how reading can be popularized for the future.
