Typically, there is a man who plays the harp at the silent reading party—the monthly gathering where everyone brings whatever they’re reading and reads silently to themselves while music plays and waiters wait on everyone. But the harpist fell ill last month, so we had to scramble for replacements. The rapper Katie Kate and the multi-instrumentalist Sam Anderson graciously agreed to play with only a few hours’ notice. But it was a little bit frenzied. What would they have played if they had more time to prepare? Tonight, we’ll find out.
