Typically, there is a man who plays the harp at the silent reading partyโ€”the monthly gathering where everyone brings whatever theyโ€™re reading and reads silently to themselves while music plays and waiters wait on everyone. But the harpist fell ill last month, so we had to scramble for replacements. The rapper Katie Kate and the multi-instrumentalist Sam Anderson graciously agreed to play with only a few hoursโ€™ notice. But it was a little bit frenzied.
