Maybe T. C. Boyle is making a mistake by publishing quality work too often. If he waited a decade between books, we would stop taking him for granted. Instead, he puts out a good book a year, and as a reward, he’s not greeted with parades or widely lauded as a genius. His novels thoughtfully address controversial subjectsโhis newest, When the Killing’s Done, explores the ethics of environmental activismโand his thick book of short stories, titled simply Stories, is the one collection everybody in America should own. T.C. Boyle should become a poet.
It pays better.
Oh really? Should he? I’m sure TC Boyle has been well compensated over the years.
I routinely give “Stories” as presents. Always well received.
I had no idea that’s what T.C. Boyle looks like. I wish that I still had no idea that’s what he looks like.
I think I don’t ever want to see a another picture of an author again.
