We’re taking a preliminary poll to gauge how Seattle is feeling about the candidates in this year’s mayoral race. Here’s a primer on who’s running:

• Mayor Ed Murray is running for re-election. He has doubled down on this in light of allegations of child sex abuse, which he calls “politically motivated.” A civil lawsuit against Murray is ongoing.
Nikkita Oliver is running with Seattle’s Peoples Party. Her campaign focuses on criminal justice reform and gentrification.
Mike McGinn, who served as mayor between 2010 and 2013, is running again. His priorities: Housing the homeless, finding savings in the city budget, and considering a city income tax.
Cary Moon is an urban planner and winner of the only Stranger Political Genius Award. She wants to take on “speculators and profiteers” who are parking their excess wealth in empty Seattle homes. Read Eli Sanders’ exclusive interview with Moon here.
