I couldn’t help but notice that you spend a lot of time chatting with all the young white girls in the bars on Capitol Hill, especially me. Shouldn’t you be doing your job, like looking for criminals? When you asked me for my phone number, I felt really creeped outโ€”because not only are you way older than me and married, you are on the clock as a public servant. You are supposed to be watching for trouble, not watching my ass. I don’t know if you think that badge is a turn-on or that girls won’t turn you down ’cause they’re afraid of a cop, but seriouslyโ€”get a fucking life and go home to your wife!

  1. Without sleaze like this, we wouldn’t have great songs like Ben Folds’ “Rent A Cop”… thanks Officer Lecher, for inspiring such art!

  2. Have gotten hit on by a cop who was writing me a warning. Know what you mean, it is really creepy. OK, then again, maybe I shouldn’t complain too much, because in my case, at least he didn’t write me a ticket, haha. Would rather have to put up with some bad flirting and being given a phone number in lieu of being given a ticket.

  3. I love that illustration, but it’s making me horny.

And the drawing is so accurate I almost thought it was a photograph.

  4. As a married man I’ve been hit on by several very charming cops who are women. I didn’t mind one bit. Glad to see my taxes put to good use.

  5. The SPD paradox:
We definitely need more police officers, just not more of the _same_ police officers.

@7 It’s fun until the ugly ones start hitting on you, or you get asked to, um, do things. Then you are no longer a man at liberty. It’s not hard to mentally reverse the gender roles and see the problem.

  6. Hey Anon, if you see this guy again, ask for his badge number. If he won’t give it to you (or even if he does) report him to the police who are actually doing their job. This guy raises a concern with me. I come from a small town not far from Seattle and several years ago (about 7 or 8 years ago, actually) there was a guy who was arrested & convicted for posing as a police officer in order to lure women into his car so he could rape them. He actually ordered an official uniform for the police department in our town and bought a cop car with our PD’s logo on it. If the guy you are speaking of really gives you the creeps and isn’t doing his job, you should contact his C.O. (if he even has one) and let them know what’s going on. We don’t pay our taxes so some guy can stand in a bar playing grab ass when he should be protecting the community.

  7. When a hot youngish (well, under 50) man in uniform talks to me, I am pretty much putty in his hands. I come from a family of cops (all men), and I know that every one of them that I’m related to or was an in-law with has cheated on his wife with women they meet on the job. I understand how cops would be tempted by the endless buffet of different women, some of whom might be like me. But I also know the heartache of scorned cop wives: my mother, my sister, my aunts.

  8. The cop she is talking about is an of duty officer who is paid by Capitol hill bars to hang out to discourage any bad behavior, he is not paid by the city so in fact he is doing his job, and he is black.

  9. 18, I really, really hope you are a troll.

( “… endless buffet of different women” ? In what cop’s wet dream? And nice allusion to women as cheap, plentiful, low-quality diner options. Looks like our illustrator nailed it again.)

You are all the validation problem cops ( “oh, I’m just putty in his hands!”) are looking for, and fwiw, a lot of women have a markedly different reaction to a man in uniform.

    Oh, *please* be a troll…

  10. seattle police pulled us over sat. night and said that I was swerving, and that i was going slow. He also asked to know how much alcohol I consumed. I was not swerving and had coffee , and still some left in my cup. The officer asked me to get out of the car still insisting that i had consumed alcohol. I got out and then he checked my Drivers License and let me go. What a way to try to give a DUI , fishing for a drunk driver. Is that what we pay them for? Harass a civilian just taking a drive ? Sad to know that police are trying to target anyone, with no reason.
