Somewhat true, in that I have higher expectations for people I’d otherwise agree with. It’s why liberals/Dems/pinkos often have more loathing for Blue Dogs than Republicans. I don’t expect Republicans to act decently, so it doesn’t surprise me when they act the role.
People who hate/blame figures in government are those who are too incompetent to do for themselves.
