In our last issue, Stranger staff writer Lester Black incorrectly reported that Sound Transit will open light rail lines to Ballard and West Seattle in 2035. In fact, Sound Transit estimates that West Seattle will get light rail by 2030. It is Ballard that won’t get light rail until 2035. You know what else is supposed to happen by 2035? Seattle is supposed to grow by another 100,000 people, advances in computing and satellites will make weather forecasting nearly perfect, and NASA thinks it can launch its first manned space flight to Mars. So while we apologize for the error made by Mr. Black (who smokes more weed than a California brush fire), we think the larger problem here is that humans might be putting their feet on Martian soil before light rail crosses the ship canal into Ballard.
