Stoneyard: Record Release
Stoneyard has been playing alternative rock around town for quite a few years, sharing bills with the likes of Black Ends and Caspian Coberly and finally putting out their debut full-length last week. The band celebrates the release of Cost Of Living with a show at the all-ages venue Black Lodge with some as-of-yet unannounced “special guests.” Their sound reminds me of Pacific Northwest bands of the ’90s and early aughts like Nirvana, Built to Spill, and Modest Mouse; it’s filled with fuzzed-out guitars, raw vocals, layered instrumentation, and epic crescendos. If you want to know what the next generation of Seattle rock sounds like, I recommend getting a ticket to this show, stat. SHANNON LUBETICH
(Black Lodge, South Lake Union, $15-$18)
