CatFest 2026 ft: Lichen Hearts, Filthy Traitors, Skates!, Straight to Video
Not to be confused with CatVideoFest (that’s next month), CatFest is an annual concert featuring local feline-loving bands that raises money for Seattle Area Feline Rescue, a nonprofit no-kill rescue that helps stray cats find homes. Queer guitar-and-drum duo the Lichen Hearts bring their riot grrrl energy and some new songs to the stage; Seattle “murder punk” band Filthy Traitors plays a set fresh off their Fourth Corner Punk Fest performance in Bellingham; pop-punk squad Straight To Video promises fast riffs and energetic shouting; and surf-pop trio Skates! has an Instagram page littered with cat pics so you know their hearts are in it. Speaking of “littered,” the organizers say they’re not doing cat puns (sorry I couldn’t resist) and ask that you leave your pets at home since cats don’t love loud noises. SHANNON LUBETICH
