Downtown Summer Sounds: Kishi Bashi
Seattle’s free Downtown Summer Sounds series kicked off last week and continues with a can’t-miss show from multi-instrumentalist Kishi Bashi on Friday evening. Push your chair back from your desk and stop at Westlake Park before catching the light rail home: this concert is sure to put you in the right mood for a sunny weekend. Kishi Bashi has collaborated with Regina Spektor and of Montreal, and puts out upbeat orchestral bops as a solo artist. The man’s talent doesn’t stop there, his 2022 film Omoiyari: A Song Film by Kishi Bashiwas nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Arts and Culture Documentary category. Kishi Bashi played the Crocodile last fall and I will not be missing this opportunity to see him for free in the heart of the city. SHANNON LUBETICH
