The first wave of Pride events goes down this weekend, with celebrations from Gays Eating Garlic Bread in the Park and Seattle Pride in the Park to the White Center Pride Street Festival. We’re also suggesting you make time for Maple Fest, the Kenmore Community Rowing Club’s open house and National Learn to Row Day, and other options below. c895 Summer Ferry Tour
Most people are unlikely to end up at a dance party on a boat unless they have a lot of money or have a friend with a lot of money. Well, not anymore! Seattle’s own “oldest dance station on the planet” c89.5 is celebrating Washington State Ferries’ 75th anniversary, bringing DJs aboard the sun deck during a handful of June afternoons. Mia Maya kicks things off this Friday on the Seattle/Bainbridge Island route starting at 3 pm and continuing for four crossings, with DJs popping up on boats going to Vashon, Kingston, and Bremerton later in the month. A normal ferry ticket is all it costs to join in and enjoy sick electronic beats plus sweeping views of the Sound. SHANNON LUBETICH
