FISH WAR Screening
The Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission and the Meaningful Movies Project are teaming up for a free screening of FISH WAR, a powerful documentary that chronicles the decades-long struggle of Indigenous nations to defend their treaty-protected salmon fishing rights. Both the documentary and the event speak to the landmark United States v. Washington Boldt decision, which reshaped environmental stewardship in the state, with a panel discussion with NWIFC Chairman Ed Johnstone and others to follow. Plus, Edmonds Bookshop will be there selling books about the treaty rights and highlighting the region’s fight for justice and preservation. LANGSTON THOMAS
