People without cable: How are you people surviving this election without The Daily Show? HOW?!

Christopher Frizzelle was The Stranger's print editor, and first joined the staff in 2003. He was the editor-in-chief from 2007 to 2016, and edited the story by Eli Sanders that won a 2012 Pulitzer...

  1. I’m doing quite well without the hateful far left tripe of Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, or Bill Maher.

They’re propaganda is dangerous in that it undermines the president in a time of war, and should be made illegal.

Liberalism is a social disease that must be destroyed forever, or you can kiss your freedom goodbye.

  2. hulu.com has the Colbert Report as well. You have to wait till the next day to get Stewart or Colbert episodes, but they’re free and with minimal advertising. Between that and netflix, who needs cable?

Lord Basil, you’re cute. Wanna snuggle?

  3. Daily Show? I’m trying to figure out how to survive with hardly even any internet. Yikes! I can only get to TPM once every few days.

  4. Yes, via bittorrent.

Some nights I’m able to watch TDS/Colbert before it “airs” here locally.

Your post sounds like an ad for cable.

(Note: 2/3s of households in seattle have cable. Something like 8% get satellite tv.)

  5. Huzzah #2, except I’d change “made illegal” to ‘laughed to scorn,’ and I’d changed “destroyed forever” to ‘relegated to a museum.’ I think it’s worthy of study by scholars.

  6. God love ya’, Slog, for pickin’ out the best bits and sharin’ them with the good folks at home who are doin’ their part in this struggling economy by choosin’ not to have cable. (Or, who are protesting the bizarre monopoly Broadstripe has on the CD.)

  7. @13, eztv.it is what I use for bt tv, but any torrent aggregator — mininova.org being a huge one — has the daily show. Like people above though, I just watch it directly at comedy central’s site. No ads in their streaming version anyhow.

  8. Olberman should be strung up for the way he has attacked our president and our troops in a time of war.

He is a traitor no worse than Hanoi Jane Fonda.

Liberalism must be outlawed before it lands America on the ash heap of history.

  9. @2: “They’re propaganda is dangerous in that it undermines the president in a time of war, and should be made illegal.”

    THEIR, for Chrissake, THEIR.

  10. My PC crashed and burned last night, I freaked about missing my Hulu shows…then did a Restore this morning and it’s all better now. Too bad cable doesn’t have some kind of backup.
    :p

  11. Lord Basil:
methinks you are merely pretending to be an arrogant ill informed conservative…but in case you are:

Liberalism — you could mean that practiced by WS Churchill? He wrote the unemployment insurance scheme for England. A horrible, horrible violatio of the free market! Of course at that time the market was letting workers starve and die all over the place.

Oh, look what his liberalism led to…..today, England is a country without elections or freedom, right?

So your theory of liberalism leading to loss of freedom is just so much horse shit.

OK say you mean today’s ultra liberalism as practiced in Western and Northern Europe with their high levels of taxation and entire sectors like heatlh taken over by the govt.

Wow, they haven’t had elections there for decades, right?

AGain, your premise that liberalism leads to loss of freedom is just so much horseshit. A provably wrong, stinking heap of smelly horse shit.

    Have you no shame?

    Or, are you an idiot?
