John Hodgman, funnyman and author of The Areas of My Expertise, is back with, More Information Than You Require, book two of his Compendium of Complete World Knowledge. Hodgman is the Resident Expert on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and appears as the PC in the Apple computer ads. He is joined by his good friend singer/songwriter Jonathan Coulton (“Baby Got Back”) for an unforgettable evening of comedy and song.

  2. I wish he’d done an audio companion of his second book. I own the hardcover, but I think the first actually worked better as an audio book.

  7. I hate the name “funnyman.” You’re a comedian until you’ve written a book or have a comedy show beyond the levels of, say, Dmitri Martin. Then you’re a “FUNNYMAN.” A man who makes funny. It’s so penny-farthings and handlebar mustaches.

  8. No clue what the production values will be on Seattle Channel, but his appearance at Town Hall was one brilliant night. Plus, JH singled me out for ridicule. I was so proud.

  11. @2, according to the Hodgman, they’re working on it. I completely agree; the first book was a funny read, but the audiobook took the hilarity to an entirely new level.

  14. Thanks @12, good to know. When I bought the book, the audio companion was originally listed on Amazon with a release date of 2080 or something like that. They seemed to have fast-tracked it considerably since then.
