  1. Okay. So I’m watching season 4 on DVD right now and just want to thank you for not putting any spoilers up. I’ll even say it again; thank you!

  2. I’ll try to make this spoiler free. It was seriously hard core when they cold executed that one set of people. i’m not sure i can remember seeing something that nihilistic on basic cable before. I believe my out loud response to my tv was, “Dayam!”

  3. Finally a few god episodes. But the wife and I just finished up all 5 seasons of the wire , so everything else on television just seems …trite.

And I totally called the last cylon like a year ago. Yes, I am bragging.

  4. I thought the first half of season 4 was pretty awful, with rehashings of character plotlines from the first two seasons and an inevitable march toward finding earth. Once they got the “find earth” nonsense over with, though, it got a hell of a lot better. The mutiny plot had me on the edge of my seat with my blood boiling.

Literally. I’m writing this from the hospital.

  5. Well, I guess it’s nice that other people are enjoying it, but I don’t see what the big change is.

    Best show ever fucking made.

    FACT.

  6. @11–We just finished watching The Wire, too. Great series. But, then again, I live The Wire every day. Okay. Not really. But I live in Baltimore!

  7. Only thing I havent liked is the non-resolving storyline between Gaeta and Hoshi. But that’s because it was an after-thought for the Webisodes only, which is lame and panderingish.

  8. I didn’t really dig the Gaeta storyline, mostly because I don’t think the actor really carried it. He’s superhot, and I love that he’s supposed to be gay, but didja see in that webisode when he goes to kiss his boyfriend? You can literally see him screwing up his courage and saying to himself, “Act like you do this all the time! Act like you do this all the time!”

No spoilers here, but I am glad the plot has moved on to focus on the better actors on the show.

  9. I did chuckle a bit over that last “look” the two of them gave each other, right before being executed.

It was the look of two actors thinking the exact same thought: “Frak! That was a nice ride, but now we have to go out and AUDITION – AGAIN!”

But then one of them shows up the following week with an “under four” on “Smallville”, so you know, at least he’s getting work…

  10. No. Not now. Not ever. Do you hear me? I will use every cannon, every bomb, every bullet, every weapon I have down to my eye-teeth to end you! I SWEAR IT! I’M COMING FOR ALL OF YOU!

  11. Is that curly-haired pretty-man in a lot of episodes? If so, I may need to start watching. I know it would also be good for my geek cred, but honestly, I’m more interested in the curly-haired pretty-man.

  12. This week was great, but last week’s episode was one of the greatest hours of tv I have ever watched. I cried when Adama retook the bridge. He is such a badass. And Rosaline refusing to surrender (see @24) was, well, just fantastic. She’s a badass too.

  13. @22 I think you might be right about Daniel being the other Adama son. That didn’t seem to occur to Starbuck (who, remember, was engaged to him) or anyone else, but it’s an interesting idea.

  14. Daniel=Kyra’s dad. Kyra’s dad was a musician that disapeared. Kyra’s half Cylon, and her age is about right. Or it’s like they said on the show. Daniel is a long gone afterthought that is a result of them having screwed up the numbering system by creating an 8, and we’ll here nothing more about it.

BSG has made brief departures from pure awesomeness to mere greatness, but I think people see slumps simply because they expect them or are afraid of appearing unsophisticated by simply enjoying something that is good.
