In Cindy Meehl’s loving documentary portrait, scenes of Brannaman working his quiet miracles are interspersed with background info on the hardship that made his gifts possible: a childhood of violent abuse at the hands of his father, from whom Brannaman was rescued as a teen. Throughout, director Meehl keeps the tone and emphasis just right: This movie is not about a magical guru, but an amazing human. recommended
