Big congratulations to two Stranger Geniuses this week:

Linas Philips‘s latest project, BASS ACKWARDS (“After ending a disastrous affair with a married woman, a man embarks on a lyrical, strange and comedic cross-country journey in a modified VW bus”), has been accepted into Sundance’s NEXT showcase. Congrats to Linas!

Also, the lovely Lynn Shelton continues her yearlong streak of congratulation-worthy activities with a nomination for the Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award. (Last year she won their Someone to Watch Award.) Congrats to Lynn! Congrats to Humpday! Congrats to fanciness! Congrats to us all!

Lindy West was born an unremarkable female baby in Seattle, Washington. The former Stranger writer covered movies, movie stars, exclamation points, lady stuff, large frightening fish, and much, much more....

  1. That’s ass-backwards.

(C’mon people, quit being American wusses and avoiding to say exactly what you mean. You can also take out “dad gummit”, “jeebus christ”, anything with asterisks, and “fcuk you” to the recycling bin at curbside.)
