Two days ago, anchors at Fox & Friends spent a few minutes talking up the amazing success of Atlas Shrugged, Part 1:

Steve Doocy beamed that itโ€™s โ€œamazingโ€ and that โ€œit has really taken off.โ€ Brian Kilmeade exuberantly delivered the filmโ€™s stats saying that โ€œthis is a lot of money for people in the business โ€” they say this is staggering.โ€ He gleefully mused that โ€œthe profitโ€™s gonna go through the roof.โ€ Juliet Huddy was glowing as she claimed that there was so much demand for the film that the producers โ€œdonโ€™t have enough copies of the film.โ€ She continued saying that โ€œIt sort of just came out of nowhere and it really blossomed.โ€

Find video of them over here. Yesterday, the producer of Atlas Shrugged, Part 1, complained that the invisible hand of the market had bitch-slapped his film, andโ€”this is very un-Rand-like of himโ€”said that he might not make the next two parts of the film because critics hurt his feelings. That doesn’t sound like amazing success to me. Do you thinkโ€”could it be possibleโ€”that Fox New lied in order to promote a conservative agenda?

  1. I’ll admit it, when that sick movie comes out on DVD I may put it into my Netflix queue just to have something to laugh at.

I love watching bad actors dealing with poorly written material.

    Hmm. What are the odds….

  3. A commenter on alicublog pointed out that Aglialoro’s company, Cybex, got a 3 million dollar grant from the state of Massachusetts.
