Two days ago, anchors at Fox & Friends spent a few minutes talking up the amazing success of Atlas Shrugged, Part 1:
Steve Doocy beamed that it’s “amazing” and that “it has really taken off.” Brian Kilmeade exuberantly delivered the film’s stats saying that “this is a lot of money for people in the business — they say this is staggering.” He gleefully mused that “the profit’s gonna go through the roof.” Juliet Huddy was glowing as she claimed that there was so much demand for the film that the producers “don’t have enough copies of the film.” She continued saying that “It sort of just came out of nowhere and it really blossomed.”

Yesterday, the producer of Atlas Shrugged, Part 1, complained that the invisible hand of the market had bitch-slapped his film, and—this is very un-Rand-like of him—said that he might not make the next two parts of the film because critics hurt his feelings. That doesn’t sound like amazing success to me. Do you think—could it be possible—that Fox New lied in order to promote a conservative agenda?

They’re just jealous they won’t be livetweeting the Royal Wedding.

I’ll admit it, when that sick movie comes out on DVD I may put it into my Netflix queue just to have something to laugh at.
I love watching bad actors dealing with poorly written material.
I’m waiting for it to appear on BitTorrent, so I can download it and then immediately delete it.
They weren’t lying, they were just doing an infomercial. Which is what Fox News is.

Well, yeah, I guess people “in the business” WOULD consider $1.6 mm a lot of money – if you don’t count the 14 other films that had even better box office grosses that same weekend.
