Due to anti-Trump pressure from ThinkProgress, Groupon just announced that they’re not going to advertise on The Apprentice. (Because lord knows Groupon has never made a mistake with its advertising before.) Groupon is apparently just the first: Enterprise is currently denying that they advertise on The Apprentice, even though their ads were on the show’s website a couple hours ago.
I’ve heard surprisingly little up till now about an Apprentice boycott, and I wonder if it has to do with a problem of perception: Even though Glenn Beck couldn’t rationally be called a reporter, for instance, his show is still couched in the news format and so it faced retribution from wary advertisers. But people still see Donald Trump as an entertainer first, and so his non-news show has escaped relatively unscathed. As he’s becoming more of a political figure, is his entertainment brand about to take a beating?

If he’s going to run for president (which I still don’t believe), he’s going to have to leave his TV show.
The Rs aren’t running for president this time around. They’re running for governorships, House seats and campaign contributions.
No real candidate will step up until Palin declares. Any candidate that steps up before Palin declares is therefore not a real candidate.
People who buy web advertising often do so through networks. A specific advertiser often does not know the specific websites their ad will be on – they are told they will be on women lifestyle sites or media sites for people between the ages of 25 and 35.
Maybe the advertisers are bailing from The Apprentice because Trump is a world-class douchbag.
No Groupon ads?!
Now I won’t be made aware of that tire special in Centralia — only one hundred miles away — that is “going on right now”
Please. We don’t need a moratorium on Groupon’s advertising on The Apprentice, we need a moratorium on Groupon. Killer of restaurants, distributor of phony “bargains” that kill restaurants, purveyor of a “something for nothing” mentality. If Groupon and its ilk were crack cocaine, we’d try to stop it, right? So why are we glorifying it?
@6: Who cares? Even if i’m not a fan, I don’t want them giving money to a racist douche Trump, who I like even less.
