I don’t need a reason to post this, do I? I just happened across it again the other day, and I forgot how good Christopher Walken’s census-taker skit on Saturday Night Live was:

It doesn’t end very well (that’s the Saturday Night Live curse), but Christopher Walken should have somehow gotten an Oscar for his five-minute performance in this skit.

  1. paulus, i’m sorry to be the one to tell you this but you’re just wrong. no, its not a matter of opinion. you’re just ill-informed and tasteless. have a good day.

both the snl skit and the poker face vid are fantastic.

  2. There’s also the curse of constantly looking at the cue cards… at least he doesn’t look back and forth a lot, so you can at least pretend he’s just not making eye contact.

  3. I’m sorry, as awesome as Walken usually is, this skit is an egregious example of the over-reliance on cue-card reading to which SNL has succumbed. The writing itself is gold, but the delivery suffers.
