Yeesh, how scared is the GOP of Hillary Clinton already? Today Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, threatened to yank the 2016 primary debates in open letters to NBC and CNN.
The problem seems to be that both channels have features on Clinton planned to air before the 2016 election, and the RNC is considering them both to be advertising: “Cancel this political ad masquerading as an unbiased production,” he wrote in the separate letters. NBC has plans to run a miniseries called Hillary, starring Diane Lane, and CNN is working on on feature-length film for next year. I guess when your best-chance candidate had to get his stomach stapled shut so he could slim down in order to run (YAR!), you’re right to worry. This is gonna be so much fun!
Obama’s 2008 campaign manager David Plouffe had this to say on the issue:
