In this captivating documentary, Buddhist monk Tenzin Zopa is given the enormous task of locating his longtime master’s reincarnation. Zopa moves through the rugged and remote Tsum Valley between Nepal and Tibet, an area seemingly barely touched by the last century, looking for special children in the right age group. The young monk is utterly charming and talks openly about how much he loved his teacher, the life they spent together, and how happy he will be to see him again. It is a fascinating look at Tibetan Buddhism and the traditions surrounding reincarnation. (Grand Illusion, 1403 NE 50th St, 523-3935. 5, 7, 9 pm, $8.)

  2. We got this one from Netflix recently and loved it. What a fabulous journey, from the death to the burial fire to following the signs and searching for the reborn master. Now I’m curious abut the reaction from the current “Stranger Suggests” guy…
