Hey Leno haters! You’re gonna love this one: Jay stupidly invites Jimmy Kimmel on his show for the “10 at 10” segment, and in a few short minutes Jimmy hilariously dissects him like a dead frog. The fun really begins at the 2:50 mark, and doesn’t let up. (Who’s with me that this is the best thing to happen to television in ages?)

  2. I’m with you, Wm. Steven Humphrey. I watched the entire Kimmel-as-Leno episode, and enjoyed quite a bit of it. Also, the Downfall/Hitler parody of the whole mess is a pretty good specimen of the genre.

  6. no, he’s the one with the shitty show, with shitty ratings, that led the affiliates to demand that his shitty show got canned. so their news ratings are down 25 percent due to leno’s shitty lead in (which then also affects the tonight show).

    so it’s HIS show that should be canned. end of story. but no, they want to fuck conan and the tonight show over.

  9. Jimmy Kimmel has always seemed like a smarmy jerk to me. A funny smarmy jerk, but a jerk nonetheless. Like that guy who makes fun of the popular kids in class but also insults the outcasts.

  12. I watched it expecting a visceral thrashing and got weak punchlines to weaker set-ups. Bill Hicks is laughing in his grave and we get Kimmel being snide? Please!

Pretty sure Zucker and Leno planned this from long before the beginning of this season — cold feet on both of their parts probably — Zucker didn’t want Leno to become a free agent, Leno didn’t want to retire anymore. So he was just biding his time at the 10 p.m. slot, understanding that both his and Conan’s shows’ ratings would slip enough to justify reinstating everyone in their old time slots. Leno is scum.

  17. Leno doesn’t have the class to just go away. Conan should have been given the chance to make his Tonight Show a success. I live in the Broadripple/Indianapolis neighborhood David Letterman grew up in, and we all know Letterman should have been given The Tonight Show after Carson retired. Our Schadenfreude is especially sweet.

  18. I’m no Leno fan, but blaming Leno for Conan’s crappy ratings is a reach. If people really wanted to watch Conan they could press a little button on the remote. It’s not as if this is the 1960s and you have to get out of your Barcalounger to change the channel.

    Conan has loyal followers, but I don’t think he has enough of them to challenge Letterman.

  24. Kudos to Jimmy! Jay Leno needs to just leave his EGO and the TONIGHT SHOW! Give it up and leave room for dedicated, honest comedions like Jimmy and O’Brien to fill the slots.

    I will never watch Leno again. I have totally lost respect for him.
