Last year, perfectionist chef Scott Carsberg shut down his super-great (and super-stuffy, and super-spendy) Lampreia. Now, on the same corner in Belltown, he puts every iota of his intense genius into Bisato, his bar and restaurant serving small plates averaging around $10 (niceties of service you don’t see elsewhere still included). Mark Bittman of the New York Times has called Bisato “one of my favorite restaurants in the world,” and you will, too. The penurious can save a bit at the new happy hour—select cocktails, wine, and beer for $5—while being transported by Carsberg’s simple but stellar, socks-knocking-off food. (Bisato, 2400 First Ave, 443-3301, happy hour 5–7 pm)
