Montana‘s happy hour starts at 5 pm—that’s in 10 minutes! Marti Jonjak investigated for this week’s Happiest Hour and found:
Description: Capitol Hill’s Montana occupies the oddly wedged space previously known as the Buck, and it continues the Western theme—though it’s a more rugged version, with black walls, graffiti-scratched countertops, and road signs with bullet holes.
What else: The lurking dummy in the Buck’s bathroom vanished during the remodel. “It was the first thing to go. I’ve pissed my pants maybe eight times in my life, and seven were because of that mannequin,” says charming co-owner, trouser-wetter, and plaster-lady-phobe Rachel Marshall. (She’s the Rachel of Rachel’s Ginger Beer, a local favorite made from all-awesome fresh/organic ingredients.)
From 5-7 pm (daily!) they’ve got $2 Tecate, $3 wells and whiskey, and $4 picklebacks (“whiskey shot with pickle-brine chaser”). And! $5 Frito pie!
