Not to be outdone by the schmancy Seattle restaurants offering froofy wine-pairing dinners, the crowd-pleasing sports bar SPORT offers their own sudsy spin on the food-plus-booze extravaganza: the four-course Mac and Jack’s Brew Master Dinner, featuring shrimp ceviche paired with Hefeweizen, Dungeness crab and corn chowder paired with IPA, Kobe beef Salisbury steak paired with African Amber, and a triple-layer chocolate cake finished off with a Blackcat Porter, all dished up in a room featuring no less than 50 flat-screen TVs. The feast goes down Thursday, June 29, starting at 6:30 pm. (SPORT Restaurant and Bar, 140 Fourth Ave, suite 130, 404-7767 for reservations, $30 per person, plus tax and tip, 21+.)

In much heavier news: In response to a beloved friend’s recent diagnosis with lymphoma, the good folks at Eastlake’s Serafina Osteria & Enoteca are hosting a two-night benefit to help offset medical costs. In honor of the benefit recipient’s Mexican heritage, both Wednesday, June 28, and Thursday, June 29, will find Serafina adding a Mexican spin to their classic Italian menu, with a portion of both nights’ proceeds going to the cause.
