Eating two Kalua pork sliders ($5) from Pai’s Food Truck right now (sorry, keyboard). Really pretty, with lots of glossy slaw and a light dusting of flour on top of the buns. And really pretty good, if you enjoy an uncomplicated salty-pork-vs.-sweetish-slaw slider situation. Slaw could use some pepper for brightness; pork is appropriately all fally-aparty, if possibly a tiny bit too salty. Two is more than enough for lunch, though: a high-value proposition.
Pai’s also had a mushroom slider and a couple curry options (a hard sell on the Hill with Thai Curry Simple’s shack nearby). The man was super nice. I felt a little sad when I walked up—they’re parked at the gas station at Broadway and Pike today until 2 p.m.—and he provided the kind of basic, good-hearted human interaction that makes the world seem better than it did moments before. We discussed the recent brief hail.

Delicious food at affordable prices. What more can you ask from a lunch truck? I love that they rotate their menu to keep it new and exciting.
Now that I have finished eating, I would just like to say: Can we outlaw the word “slider” in connection with food? People should not have to think of food sliding.

Apparently, White Castle coined the term “sliders” for their mini burgers, because after you eat them, they will literally slide right out your butt…
Pai’s is sooooo good. I love their thuli thuli chicken and green papaiya salad. Mmm, I never leave hungry, but always want more :p
Yes, please. “Slider” is a horrible word for food. I propose the word “dumplet” be used in its place.
Also, referring to a regular-size burger as a sandwich I also find disgusting for some reason.

The veggie “small burgers” are insanely good. I am addicted. The mac salad is bomb too.
