However, this is the most bullshit “salad” of all time.

Look at it! It is only four leafs big!

I am wondering why you even bother.

Lindy West was born an unremarkable female baby in Seattle, Washington. The former Stranger writer covered movies, movie stars, exclamation points, lady stuff, large frightening fish, and much, much more....

  1. Looks about right to me, though that could also be rice and beans.

Hmm… the base of most of my meals are a couple fried eggs. I’ve lost the ability to differentiate between dishes.

  2. I can’t stand eggs, but those look delicious.

I’m tempted to buy eggs to see if my opinion changed, but they’ll just go bad in the refrigerator.

  3. Where is the primo wheat bread toast? (lightly buttered)

Eggs look good, side salad of quality is better.

New cook? Maybe Linda herself … covering a shift???

  4. I used to visit Odfellows quite frequently … But they seem to change their menu way too often and always seem to get rid of their better plates … Our relationship was sweet while it lasted.

  5. @3 I know, right? This following Dan’s passive-aggressive whining about tipping for teabags and water…

This is “Seattle-nice” on display, that cowardly tendency to nod and smile to a person’s face, then whine and bitch about them as soon as they’re out of earshot.

  6. Anyone know what happened to their pork nuggets, by the way? The last time I was there, the waitress refused to answer why they were gone.

  7. Does anyone know what happend to their pork nuggets, by the way? Last time I was there, the waitress refused to answer why they were gone.

  8. Does anyone know what happend to their pork nuggets, by the way? Last time I was there, the waitress refused to answer why they were gone.

  9. ok, most chain restaurants in this country serve ridiculously LARGE portions (which is one of the reasons why this country is so fat) but the other end of the scale is just as ridiculous…a very high end gourmet restaurant using premium ingredients can get away with a portion like that, not a chain pub that buys most of their shit from Costco…it’s Derschang being a cheapass when it comes to serving size in relation to price. Her restaurants are basically high end diners with high end prices…NOT good value.

  10. Damn! How DO they cook those eggs so beautifully?

I think it’s a clever dish but to work, the salad greens should be really interesting. Those appear rather pedestrian.

Classic Italian cuisine has some recipes using eggs like this, simple, fast, tasty and healthy.

  11. When it comes to food the only thing the squeaky wheel gets is an extra helping of pubic hair in their meal. Discretion is sometimes the wise choice.

  12. WARNING: if you go to oddfellows, do NOT order their cocktails. i got something foamy with st. germain, i was trying to be adventurous, and it literally tasted like Simple Green cleaning solution. Possibly one of the first beverages I have not finished in my life. and $8 on top of it.

  13. #21 – the food has gone down in quality. Linda on the cheap.

And, obviously she cut her ad budget at the Danger.

There is still a cute ass server there who just gets me going.

By contrast the food is much better these days at Julia’s and Bwy. Grill – go figure. (both have lowered prices too)

Fish and chips at B. Grill are super, giant pieces of good cod … interesting fries. FYI.

  14. @23 – I don’t think it’s possible that their food has gone down hill!
I’ve tried Oddfellows time and again as they’ve changed the menu and it’s always terrible. Not just mediocre, but actually awful.
Really with Cafe Presse right up the road (cheaper! better! friendlier! so much more awesome) I’m not sure how they’re going to make it.

  15. OK I agree the salad next to the sandwich looks more like a garnish than a salad. I swear I didn’t put out a memo saying “cut back on lettuce”. It will be a larger – not large – just a larger amount of lettuce tomorrow. Really.

  16. I love oddfellows for brunch, but it’s true…I have to get a taco across the street to quell the hunger pains afterward. It’s worth it to me because the food tastes good and the atmosphere is fun, but I stopped being able to get anyone to go with me because my friends are too frustrated at the portion sizes. Make them bigger please…tapas doesn’t work for a hearty brunch.

  17. I went for a Cobb salad yesterday, four tiny pieces of bacon, three chunks of blue, three plum tomatoes, a hand full of greens. I went to Pike Fish Fry afterwards for tacos, to top it off. Ugh. Seriously?
