I’m not much of a list-maker, but this has to be one of the five best sandwiches in Seattle. New Phinney restaurant Martino’s does a lot of stuff right, but Jesus Christ, the Santa Maria tri-tip steak sandwich is a whole different level. It’s got all the right ingredientsโ€”a Macrina roll, tender grass-fed beef, fresh vegetablesโ€”arranged in just the right way. The steak is lightly smoked, doused in a chimichurri sauce, and covered with a tomato-and-onion salsa. I almost cried the first time I bit into this sandwich. It’s that good.
