Description: A Greek restaurant and dive bar in Sodo.

Decor: The restaurant portion lightly mimics an outdoor
scene, while the lounge is dark and thick with 1970s remnants (the
familiar mirror tiles with gold flakes and loads of rust-red
carpeting—which, in an innovative twist, is mounted on the
walls!).

The wonderments: The art display resting on the piano, which
features a statuette of Perseus (gripping Medusa’s decapitated head)
along with a couple photographs of Mr. D, who continues the
head-in-hand trend with one of his own (a plaster rendering of a
smiling, white-haired man).

The mysteries: The esoteric “Please, try harder” written in
red cursive on the ladies’ room mirror.

Possible interpretations: It’s inspirational (a positive
affirmation meant to improve your life), it’s reprehensible (a “joke”
imploring women to look better), it’s a mystical message from the
universe (a cosmic anagram, which reveals your spirit name as Shapely
Retarder).

Happy hours: Daily 3–6 pm.

Happy-hour drink specials: Fifty cents off wells, $2.25
domestic beer (Budweiser), $3.50 microbrews (Sunrye Summer Ale).

Happy-hour food specials: $3.95 appetizers (jalapeño
poppers, fried clam strips). recommended
