Definition: Windowless and vaguely foreboding, Brouwer’s is part Roman arena (with its curving, tiered layout) and part Vegas dungeon (faux-stone walls, blaring rock music).
The draw: If you’re into beer, especially Belgian beer, there’s an assload of choices.
Assloads, a quick breakdown: There are 60-plus drafts and 200-plus bottles available, which safely raises Brouwer’s beer selection above “shit-pile” while falling just short of the metric “fuck-ton” delineation.
But wait, there’s more: The Scotch list is equally tremendous (60-plus varieties)!
Happy hours: Daily 3–6 pm.
Happy-hour drink specials: $1 off wells, $1 off drafts ($5 Young’s Double Chocolate Stout from England, $4 Leffe Brune from Belgium).
Happy-hour food specials: An unusual menu of European-inspired treats, including $7.50 buffaloar sliders (wild boar and buffalo) and $7 smelt (one dozen, fried). ![]()

It’s Seattle, buck… What do you expect?
We went to Brouwer’s a couple of months ago and had some delicious happy hour snacks and were very excited by their beer selection. Unfortunately, we had the absolute WORST service I’ve ever received in Seattle so we won’t be going back. I think I can sum it up by saying this: Our bartender literally LAUGHED at us when we (rather politely, to be honest) brought it to his attention that our drinks and waters had been empty for oh, about 25 minutes, and that no one had ever come back to check on us. Meanwhile, we had seen him at the other end of the very long bar, chatting up some dudes. If you’ve ever worked in a restaurant, you can distinguish bad service from just super busy service. There were open seats all over so I know he was not slammed. Anyway, he laughed, said nothing, and then walked away. It took TWO hours for this place to provide us with ONE beer each and two happy hour plates. Did I mention we had to ask twice for food menus? I would never waste my money or time here again.
