Description: Strewn with faux-
vintage street lamps,
artificial storefronts, and an overhead draping of tiny white lights,
Capitol Hill’s Cafe Metropolitain presents a fanciful, Disneyfied
rendition of a nighttime Parisian courtyard.

Music: Mystifyingly, a collection of ’90s industrial rock
hits.

Why drinking in Cafe Metropolitain is preferable to drinking at
Disneyland
: The highly exclusive Club 33, which is the only place
to purchase alcohol in all of Disneyland, bears an exorbitant
membership fee (corporate membership costs upward of $30,000), a
ridiculous membership wait list (in June ’07, it was 14 years), and a
thrilling-yet-daunting entry ritual (guests must press the hidden
intercom buzzer, which lies concealed beneath a trick panel in the
doorway).

Happy hours: Mon–Sat 4–7 pm and 11
pm–close, Sun 4 pm–close.

Happy-hour drink specials: $1 PBR drafts, $3 well drinks.

Food specials: $4.25 cheese pizza (additional toppings are
50¢ each), $4 mini mac ‘n’ cheese, $2 hot dogs, more. recommended
