Pro tip: Donโ€™t call it โ€œhard cider.โ€ For some reason, cider aficionados (who are suddenly numerous) look down on this. Maybe we just call non-hard cider โ€œapple juiceโ€ now? In any case, donโ€™t let the fact that itโ€™s trendy keep you away from the deliciousness of our friends the apples (and pears!) made into alcoholโ€”ciders are drier, more nuanced, and better than ever, and theyโ€™ve always been good. Washington Cider Week has so many tastings, parties, etc., it lasts 10 days, September 4 through 14. See the Northwest Cider Association website for your many, many cider options.
