Pro tip: Don’t call it “hard cider.” For some reason, cider aficionados (who are suddenly numerous) look down on this. Maybe we just call non-hard cider “apple juice” now? In any case, don’t let the fact that it’s trendy keep you away from the deliciousness of our friends the apples (and pears!) made into alcohol—ciders are drier, more nuanced, and better than ever, and they’ve always been good.
