Newspaper seeking one underling and one overlord: a staff news writer and an editor in chief.

News writers should know about writing news, but preferably more than that. We’re looking for a local-politics obsessive who isn’t afraid to dig into a pile of documents or confront a politician with tough questions. You should also be a fast writer and a quick study who can tell a story with flair. This is a union position. Apply here.

We’d tell you to throw your hat in the ring for editor in chief, but if you want to be the boss of us all, we’ll assume your head is too big for one. Please apply anyway.

If you’re the right person for the job, we shouldn’t have to tell you this, but an editor-in-chief should have good judgment, uncompromising ethics, sharp elbows, vision, and writing talent. If you see such a person in the mirror and you meet our basic qualifications, go for it. If you don’t, well, watch Spotlight a few times to get this dream out of your system.

Whether captain or crew, your work will appear on this website and in our monthly print issues. Both positions will have a seat on the Stranger Election Control Board.
