To the unapologetic mom and child who made me fall off my bike at Seward Park,

I think your kid should learn better trail etiquette before being able to ride a bike in the middle of the trail, if they can’t follow “on your left!”

Not to mention, barely even staying for a moment to check in after I could finally get up from the ground after avoiding ramming into your child and falling into trees instead, bending my handlebars and my knee.

You should ALSO know I was training for a triathlon, was NOT ABLE TO DO THE RACE this past weekend, and my knee is still healing. Four weeks later, and I cannot walk for more than 15 minutes.

Seward, have better biking etiquette and trail signage for those kids who don’t know what they’re doing yet.

Parents, do better at educating your kids before they go on trails and potentially cause accidents. You never know what’s going on in someone else’s life and how your ignorance could impact them.

Sincerely,
Woman who fell off her bike and didn’t receive an ounce of empathy
