“Aguas!” is a common shout for “look out!” in Spanish, throughout the Spanish world, that comes from people throwing chamber pot contents out of windows. It was such a common refrain that it was adopted in the Malay world (“awas”) as well, to mean the same thing. But the word doesn’t work if you don’t shout it before you empty your pot.
