Kanye West has recently been on a long streak of fucked up tweets that seem to indicate something is wrong, either mentally, emotionally, chemically, or some combination of the three. Today, he seems to have gone fully off the rails, proclaiming love and solidarity with demonstrably awful humans like the current president (who tweeted right back at him, naturally) and bragging about having a meeting with Peter Thiel—one of only a few Americans who are objectively more dangerous and morally less credible than the current president.

No one needs to be a doctor to see that Kanye West is publicly acting out some form of distress, and not for the first time, and that nothing about it is amusing, and nothing about it has to do with politics or art or whether you like him.

Or, if you are married to him, the way Kim Kardashian West is, you might argue that he is fine, and making good, strong choices, and furthermore that he is fine, and that his choices are his own, and that, in closing, everything is, as it has always been, fine:

She certainly knows better than I do. It doesn’t ring true, but you can never tell with people whose lives are lived in public. Many of them will say almost anything.
