WEDNESDAY 3/23

AN EVENING WITH RORY SCOVEL AND DEREK SHEEN

Rory Scovel is a genius person. His comedy is absurd and improvisational, floating along on a faint Southern drawl and expanding into weird corners of the universe that you didn’t know were there. Also, Scovel lives in New York City (yes, THAT New York City!), which means he doesn’t live here, which means you really ought to fucking go see him while you have the chance. Derek Sheen is a human hug. Annex Theatre, 8 pm, $10, 18+.

MONDAY 3/28

EXPENSIVE GENES WITH JACKIE KASHIAN

This is the big kickoff event for Children of the Atom, our town’s new comedy production collective helmed by Solomon Georgio ‘n’ Friends (be excited!). For the premier Expensive Genes showcase, they’ve booked fancy out-of-towner Jackie Kashian (Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, her podcast The Dork Forest) and backed her up with some of our fanciest funny locals (Rylee Newton! Travis & Kevin!). It would be stupid not to be there. Are you stupid? El Corazón, 8:30 pm, $7, 21+.

Lindy West was born an unremarkable female baby in Seattle, Washington. The former Stranger writer covered movies, movie stars, exclamation points, lady stuff, large frightening fish, and much, much more....
