It’s another Wicked evening in Seattle, as yet another of the four horsemen returns
to our city for the first time in ages. Some background: Since setting up shop
in San Francisco in the early ’90s, the Wicked crew have defined West Coast rave
culture. With their custom-built purple sound system, they’ve toured the country
spreading the vibe of their legendary Full Moon parties. And in the process, they’ve
planted the seeds for many a regional rave scene. Seattle’s recent fascination
with DJ culture still hasn’t brought much West Coast talent to town; while we’ve
got our fair share of British junglists and European downtempo dons, the Wicked
crew, the Hardkisses and Dubtribe are a rare sight around here, despite their
undisputed (but quiet) influ-ence on Seattle’s rave scene. So Jeno’s upcoming
appearance at ARO.space will be a treat to jaded ravers and shorties alike.
