Why should you celebrate with the spooky, post-punkers Haunted Horses? Well, for one, it’s the release party of a sneak-preview EP—songs from a longer record to be released in the spring (and the first in a series to be put out by the Fainting Room Collective—a collaboration between Seattle artists to pair music and visual art for a collection of six 7-inch records). For two, Haunted Horses are about to gallop away on tour (what if they don’t come back?!). And three, weirdly awesome art-noise bands MTNS, display, and Smiling will also play. Wear black! Fall is back! (Lo-Fi, 429 Eastlake Ave E, thelofi.net, 9 pm, $7, 21+)
