Now in its second year, Ballard’s Macefield Music Festival has stepped up its game by offering not one, but two full days of some of the Northwest’s finest music, including THEESatisfaction, the Sonics, the Posies, UGLYFRANK, the Cops, Survival Knife, Star Anna, NighTraiN, and many (many!) more. The shows will go down at various venues like the Tractor Tavern and Sonic Boom Records, but there will also be an outdoor, all-ages stage this year at Hattie’s Hat. Also new this year is the comedy showcase, and the free/open-to-the-public Macefield Market, where you can drink beer while browsing clothes, records, posters, and crafts. (Various venues in Ballard, macefieldmusicfestival.com, $25 one day/$40 two-day pass, some venues 21+, Oct 3–4)
