Big, gay, VOGUING church that is! (Spit that filthy “body of Christ” or whatever RIGHT out ‘cho mouth, ladypants! We’ve got something so much more redeeming.) It’s the House of Charlatan—doing a thing called “The Church of Charlatan!” The House of Charlatan? Please. They are a fierce, ferocious, and super-stylish congregation of nouveau-voguers who have thrilled and sexed-up your silly drunken nervous system whether you realize it or not. (Have you BEEN to a gay club event in the last year? Anywhere? HAVE YOU? Hmph. Then you know the House of Charlatan, thank you. And you love them, too. Trust me.) And the CHURCH of Charlatan? Please. According to Casey Sagisi, the boneriffic twirling brains of the outfit: “It is going to be EPIC. HERO WORSHIP: DIZZY DEBBIE!

If not Pony, where? If not Debbie, who?! I ask you. Pony is by all accounts the greatest new old gay bar in Seattle (sorry to everyone I spilled wine or whatever all over last weekend! Really!) And Debbie Harry? She is clearly what she is, and what she is is a LEGEND! And tonight is one of Pony’s über-special “nights”—when DJ Jack takes over the place and spins an event called Hero Worship—a series celebrating those worth celebrating. And THIS one! Well. THIS one celebrates the incomparably worship-worthy Debbie Harry! The ONE Debbie Harry, the ONLY Debbie Harry—enough Debbie Harry to choke a pony (pun intended, I suppose). AND! Also all those bands that The Debbie influenced and—perhaps most importantly—those who influenced The Debbie. (The Ramones? The Shangri-Las? Indeed… and MORE!). All shall be spun brilliantly by DJ El Toro (aka Kurt B. Reighley) and DJ Jack (aka Jack Caton). And did I mention THE BEST NEW OLD GAY BAR IN THE UNIVERSE PLUS THE MUSIC OF DEBBIE HARRY?!
