CELEBRATE THE MUSIC OF PATSY CLINE AT THE TRIPLE DOOR

(Triple Door) There’s a reason this annual celebration of Patsy Cline remains a perpetually sold-out crowd-pleaser. Several, actually. First and foremost, there are those songs, from party rockers to mercilessly introspective torch songs, which any American with ears learned to love through the one-of-a-kind voiceโ€”simultaneously shellacked and nakedโ€”of Patsy Cline. For Sweet Dreams, these songs are channeled by a number of new voices, including Kim Virant, Star Anna,V. Contreras, Jennifer Hopper, and Allessandra Rose, who are free to run wild (or get very, very still) with Cline’s classics. Raising the bar across the board: the great house band, featuring Gary Westlake, Chris Friel, Rebecca Young, William Stover, Kathy Moore, and Paul Hutzler. DAVID SCHMADER

THE SORDID, SKULKING SOUNDS OF PRISONFOOD AND NOISEPOETNOBODY

(Twilight Gallery) In this evening of art gallery โ€œnoise colonization,โ€ you are invited to dwell in that abstract space between performance art and modernist composition. Headliner Prisonfood makes gray-scale, Eastern bloc gulag-scapes, monochromatic monoliths sculpted from desiccated drones and sordid squalls, amid a pea-soup fog of burbling analog electronics. NoisePoetNobodyโ€™s clanking, skulking weird-wave simulates the misfiring synapses of a lobotomized android, or perhaps a sentient sewer pipe. Plus, prepare your brain to be colonized by the crackling spark-plug guitars of Uneasy Chairs and a piece by PXKX called โ€œDentrifrice Artifice,โ€ which sounds like a right fine night on the town! BURN ONE FEATURING STANTON WARRIORS WILL GIVE YOU A FUNKY BREAK, ALL NIGHT

UK duo Stanton Warriors are one of the most popular acts in the funky-breaks realm, with huge names like Daft Punk, Jay Z, M.I.A., Eurythmics, and others seeking their remixing prowess. (Theyโ€™ve also tweaked tracks by more underground artists like Alter Ego, Basement Jaxx, and Claude VonStroke, so donโ€™t think theyโ€™re, like, total sellouts.) Basically, Stanton Warriors are repurposing the extroverted, sampledelic elements of โ€™90s-era big beat to 21st-century sensibilities. And lots of folks are digging it. Roll over, Propellerheads, and tell Fatboy Slim the news. Neumos, 8 pm, $15 adv, 21+. DAVE SEGAL

THE “FRIENDS OF MIKE” COME TOGETHER FOR MUSICARES

(Kirkland Performance Center) If youโ€™re a fan of indie bands like the Posies, Hey Marseilles, and Cataldo, then tonight could be one of the most magical evenings of your summer. Over several years, producer Mike Lucero collaborated with his musical friends to construct an album of both originals and covers, and tonight they celebrate the recordโ€™s release. Luceroโ€™s calling the project FM Collective (FM stands for Friends of Mike) and the lineup features Ken Stringfellow of the Posies, plus members of Hey Marseilles, Cataldo, Fences, Heart, Portugal the Man, Tennis Pro, and many more. While there will be some originals in the mix, Lucero also promises โ€œradically re-interpretedโ€ takes of songs like โ€œKarma Police,โ€ โ€œWaltz #2,โ€ โ€œI Will Follow You into the Dark,โ€ and โ€œEleanor Rigby.โ€ There will also be raffle prizes with โ€œone of a kind music giveawaysโ€ (maybe youโ€™ll win a lock of Stringfellowโ€™s hair?) and all proceeds benefit MusiCares, the great organization that helps musicians get through financial and medical emergencies.
