Amazon is expanding to Bellevue: Amazon will build a 43-story tower in Bellevue, reports Seattle Times's Benjamin Romano. It will be Amazon's tallest tower and Bellevue's tallest tower. The tower is expected to be finished by 2024. The Seattle Times estimates that by the time the tower is completed, Amazon will have enough space to house 11,000 employees in Bellevue. What Gene Balk said:

Team USA is going to the FIFA Women's World Cup finals: Ms. Graham has the scoop. TL;DR: "There were yellow cards! And red cards! A VAR goal call-back! A controversial call that resulted in a penalty! A blocked penalty! Flopping! Injuries!"

Is it divine intervention?: Mike Pence abruptly canceled a scheduled visit to New Hampshire this morning to return to the White House. The reason for canceling was not clear, which led many (me) to hope speculate it was exactly what the White House was insisting it wasn't:

Looks like the president is still alive: He's tweeting pictures of his recent Kim Jong-un photo op.

You can't say the Seattle Times editorial board isn't consistent: They're calling for Mayor Jenny Durkan to veto Monday's 8-0 Seattle City Council vote allowing the construction of backyard cottages and mother-in-law apartments. The Stranger's Katie Herzog thinks there's a 50 percent chance Durkan will do it. She shouldn't.

Another Seattle City Council member is preggo: Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda made news earlier this year when she announced that she is pregnant. She's believed to be the first Seattle City Council member to be with squirrel. Now Seattle has its second. Councilmember Lorena GonzĂĄlez announced this afternoon over Twitter that she's also pregnant.

Trump's Fourth of July celebration plans are getting ridiculous: But the New York Times writes that we should just ignore them.

There was a vigil to #CloseTheCamps in Seattle this afternoon: And across the country. Newsweek reports that more than 170 protests were scheduled in various cities to demand the closure of detention centers.

Those detention centers are overflowing: Today, BuzzFeed News shared horrifying photos of cells crammed with bodies. Some shots show cells designed with a maximum capacity of 41 crammed with 82 men.

Coming soon to a screen near you: This epic journey of an arctic fox. A one-year-old fox traveled from Norway to Canada, covering 2,176 miles in 76 days. Researchers were "speechless" and report that the fox walked more than 96 miles on some days. (The journey isn't actually being made into a movie, but someone should pitch it to Pixar.) Researchers made this GIF to demonstrate her journey.

Tangential, but: Does anyone else think Marianne Williamson is a Twin Peaks character?

The printer is ready to print the 2020 census forms: And a citizenship question will not be on it. The 1.5 billion paper forms will be printed without a question asking if respondents are citizens. Advocates worried this question would suppress responses, especially among communities of color.

The Stranger's Eli Sanders won an award: For his dogged reporting on Facebook and Google's lack of transparency around political ads. He won the Bunting Award, which I hear is bigger than the Pulitzer. (Like, the award is literally bigger.) If you're interested in Eli's reporting—you should be—here's the latest update on the ongoing issue.

Democrats have asked Facebook to halt their plans to launch a cryptocurrency: Like government regulations have ever stopped them before...

If you're confused about what Facebook's new cryptocurrency even is: I am, too. Here's an explainer.

Trailer dump: Great news for Kathryn Hahn fans. She's got a new HBO show. I guess this is karmic justic for I Love Dick getting unceremoniously canceled.

Mindy Kaling is the new queen of rom-coms: I think her recent projects have been sorta boring, but at least they're incredibly charming. Her new limited Hulu series, a remake of Four Weddings and a Funeral, debuts on July 31.

Here's what I'll be watching on Thanksgiving: The trailer for director Rian Johnson's Knives Out also dropped today. I'm excited for this one. It's got Jamie Lee Curtis and Toni Collette as sassy murder suspects and the enigmatic Lakeith Stanfield plays a detective (Lakeith Stanfield is my favorite actor right now). It drops on Thanksgiving.
