Freeman High School Shooter Says He Used Weapons From His Father’s Gun Safe: The shooter who took the life of 15-year-old Sam Strahan and injured three teenage girls on Wednesday brought at least one handgun and one “assault style rifle” to school that day, according to probable cause documents. KING 5 reports that the shooter’s father confirmed with detectives that his son knew the combination to his gun safe. The shooter’s mother said she found a suicide note on a counter.
Neurosurgeon Who Questioned Swedish Health Colleague Awarded $17.5 Million: Dr. David Newell claims he was fired in retaliation for raising concerns about a colleague, Dr. Johnny Delashaw, the Seattle Times reports. Delashaw was the subject of a Times investigation for his improbably high number of inpatient cases and internal complaints. It was also funded by a group whose leader the Southern Poverty Law Center dubbed the “racist architect of the modern anti-immigration movement.”
