    That said, Breedlove was just four years old when Amy Fisher shot Mary Jo Buttafuoco, so even though that reference is more contemporary for him than Nabakov, it’s funny that the tabloid story from his preschool years is what comes to what passes for his mind instead of the literary reference that is more applicable.

17. A kiss two weeks before he was 18, might actually even be deemed illegal if the older person was just 22 under Washington State law. This is what is really screwed up about consent laws and even public opinion. There is an arbitrariness in them that is meant to protect but often actually harms.

    I absolutely do not advocate pedophilia and do believe that we need laws protecting minors but the hysteria surrounding sex in this country makes any real protection such as fran discussion and sound education for kids impossible.
